Hello, I'm Ms. Garza. I was born and raised in Katy, Texas, and went to school in Katy ISD. I graduated from UH with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Education. My Classroom

Prop Circles

For my classroom I use Prop Circles as a major form of Classroom Management. I reward the students for good behavior, participation, and all the brilliant ideas by awarding props. (A bit like points in the House Cup from Harry Potter.) For each goal they meet, they earn a prize that they determine as a group. Each class competes with the other. 

Interactive Notebooks

These Notebooks are essential to our classroom learning process. We use our notebooks everyday. They hold the bulk of our notes and a large portion of our day to day activities. The notebook, although sometimes time consuming, is an irreplaceable resource for our students. Each student decorates their notebook to characterize themselves and foster ownership of their work. 

School Supplies

We all have those days when everything seems to be missing. If ever a student is sick or just lost their materials, we keep a small supply of extras located in the front of the class.
